I started out with a desire for adventure...Sailing down the coast, traveling in a van around the country or taking my jeep to remote spots around the country. It all looked so easy on the hundreds of YouTube videos i watched! Reality soon sunk in and i remembered I had a full time job and was hard pressed to get more than a few days off in a row. It dawned on me adventure and overlanding doesn't have to be far away.
Over 2 years in the planning we wanted to focus on outdoor activities and have the option of getting to remote destinations if needed. So far we have secured the rig (a 2022 4xe named Gobi2) and have just secured a trailer (2017 Smittybilt Scout trailer) that we are in the process of modifying and preparing for extended adventures.
We wanted to capture that spirit of adventure we saw in so many videos so we thought we would start looking right around us. Pulling out a map we drew a circle around our house the distance one tank of gas would take us and set that as our exploration boundary. Join us as we start to document this process and our steps to extended adventure.
